Participants learn the Nine Rights Framework to advocacy strategy in order to be effective, empathetic, and trusted advocates. The Rights cover: framing; message; messenger; actor; platform; time; team; approach; and metrics. The approach is people-centered, data-informed, research-backed, bridge-building, and organization-wide.
Learning Communities are small-by-design groups who learn with and from each other through a series of workshops and guest speakers. The program includes pre-reads and assigned activities to develop a solid foundation in advocacy. Participants can opt for one year of mentorship after completing the program.
Participants receive feedback on their contribution to each unit of the course. The course does not include a final summative assessment.
